Ich erspare euch nun einfach eine Entschuldigung, warum ich so lange nicht geschrieben habe, da sowieso niemand faule Ausreden hören will, und halte die Begründung knapp: Leben.
Zur Zeit ist einiges im Umbruch, in mir und in meinem Leben. Seit meinem Diplom kann man an zwei Händen abzählen, wie oft ich meine Kamera in der Hand gehalten habe, an einer und man braucht keine einzige Hand, wenn man versucht ein Model mit in diese Rechnung zu nehmen.
Woran das liegt weiß ich selbst nicht genau. Ich weiß nur, dass die Fotografie und ich zur Zeit nicht sonderlich viel von einander wissen wollen. Nicht genug, um tatsächlich als Fotografin zu arbeiten, jedenfalls.
Aber wenn ich nicht als Fotografin arbeite, was ja nunmal eigentlich mein Beruf ist, als was dann?
Zur Zeit jobbe ich als Barista, um die Zeit zu überbrücken, bis ich nach Berlin ziehe, was in wenigen Wochen der Fall sein wird. Dort habe ich einen Praktikumsplatz in der Onlineredaktion von
Wie treue Blogleser (habe ich so etwas?) wissen, habe ich knapp ein Jahr für Wii Insider geschrieben und hatte großen Spaß an der Arbeit, was mich veranlasst hat, mich weiter in diesem Bereich umzusehen, was wiederrum das Praktikum zur Folge hatte. Moment... Habe geschrieben? Vergangenheit? Jap. Im März hat Wii Insider seine Pforten geschlossen, zu Gunsten eines neuen Projektes:
Wie man sich denken kann, handelt es sich wieder um eine Videospielewebsite, diesmal jedoch nicht mit dem Fokus auf nur eine Konsole, sondern das ganze Spektrum, sowie Blogbeiträge, Gaming-Lifestyle und Fotografie. Nun dürft ihr raten, wer für Letzteres verantwortlich ist ;)
So taste ich mich langsam wieder an die Fotografie heran. Bis jetzt klappt es ganz gut und ich beginne wieder Spaß an der Arbeit mit der Kamera zu finden, was sich schon fast wie ein kleines Wunder anfühlt.
Natürlich widme ich mich auch weiterhin Herstellung und Verkauf von Schmuck und Prints. Mittlerweile verkaufe ich nicht nur bei DaWanda, sondern auch bei
Ein kleiner, aber feiner Laden in Münster, der selbstgemachte Sachen verkauft und vor einiger Zeit an mich herangetreten ist. Über die Anfrage habe ich mich unglaublich gefreut. Meinen Schmuck nicht nur selbst im Internet, sondern auch noch über andere in einem richtigen laden zu vertreiben, ist ein großartiges Gefühl.
Last but not least bereite ich meinen Umzug in die Hauptstadt vor und fröne meiner Obsession mit Graphic Novels und Comics, besonders im Bezug auf eine bestimmte menschliche Fledermaus. Auch wenn ich den Script Frenzy dieses Jahr habe sausen lassen, arbeite ich weiter daran auch im Bereich Comics-schreiben tätig zu werden und suche nach div. Künstlern, die Interesse an Kollaborationen haben. Neben diesen Projekten arbeite ich auch daran endliche eine neue Version meiner Homepage zu erstellen, in der der Blog gleich eingebunden ist und die alle aktuellen sowie vergangenen Projekte vereint, sowie zeigt, in welchen Bereichen ich buchbar bin.
Ich bin auch am überlegen vorerst wieder auf eine einsprachige Website/Blog umzusteigen, da ich festgestellt habe, dass eine Sache, die mich vom Bloggen abhält ist, dass ich jeden Beitrag quasi zwei Mal schreiben muss, was etwas nervig ist.
Eventuell wird es so enden, dass meine Homepage zu meinem fast-komplett-deutschen Portfolio wird, während ich die englischen Beiträge bzw. News auf diesen Blog ausquartiere. Mal sehen, alles noch in Arbeit.
Wie ihr seht, Tatenlos war ich sicherlich nicht, nur sind die Tage einfach zu kurz, um alles zu tun.

There's a lot going on in mine right now. Since my diploma you could count the number of times I touched my camera on two hands. You wouldn't even need one if you'd count the times I did so while a model was involved. I'm not entirely clear myself why it's like that, anyway. The only thing I know is that photography and me are not the best of friends right now. Not the best attitude for a photographer.
So, if I'm not working in my job, what am I actually doing?

As my loyal readers (do I have any?) know, I've written for Wii Insider for about a year now. Something that was very interesting and fun and made me think about my future and also had me apply for the internship. Wait, *was* fun? Yes. In March Wii Insider closed down and most of the staff (including me) moved on to another project:
As you can imagine it's another videogame related website but this time not with the eye on just one console but all of them, also including blogs, gaming-lifestyle and photography. Guess whose job this is ;)
Step by step I try to have fun with photography again and up until not it's working, something that feels like a small miracle.
Of course I've not abandoned creating and selling jewelry. Right now I'm not only selling via DaWanda but also at a small shop in Münster called
Some time ago the nice folks running this designer shop asked me if I'd like to sell my stuff at their place and of course I didn't say no. Actually, I was very happy and honored by their request. Having my jewelry in a real shop and not "only" online is a great feeling.
Last but not least I'm preparing my move to the capital and succumb to my obsession with graphic novels and comics, with a special focus on a human bat...
Even if I did not participate in Script Frenzy this year, I'm still very interested in workin in comics. I'm still writing on my own ideas and searching for other creative folks to collaborate with. Next to those projects I'm also working on a new version of my homepage, this time including my blog as well as all past and present projects and ways you can book me for.
Also, I'm thinking about only blogging in one language. Some time ago I noticed that the idea of having to write every entry two times, is a bit tireing and one of the reasons I don't write as often as I'd like to.
My idea right now is having my main portfolio and blog in German and adding the translations and most importand news on this blog.
Still working on the details, 'though.
So, as you can see I wasn't idle, the days are just too short to do everything I would need to do.
